October Is Solar Energy Month!

"October is Solar Energy Month throughout California. The sun is an important source of cleaner, renewable electricity, and as a national leader in providing renewable energy to homes and businesses, we’re dedicated to it.

Solar panel systems are now installed and generating power on top of shopping malls, carports, undeveloped land, and of course, the roofs of homes. More than 13,000 homeowners in our region are going solar at home, and there’s never been a better time to take advantage of favorable incentives and rebates. Learn more.

In the sun-drenched Inland Empire, we’re building large-scale solar stations on warehouse rooftops, and distributing the cleaner energy directly to nearby households and businesses. In the next few years, these rooftop solar arrays will generate enough electricity to power an average of 160,000 homes – while protecting our environment from carbon emissions.

Solar power is within reach of more Californians than ever.

A public housing community in Riverside County is going solar this month, and as a result, residents’ electricity bills will shrink along with their carbon footprints. Also this month, our employee volunteers will help construct a solar generating system at the home of a low-income Los Angeles County family.
